Much better than thought it would be. Given that it’s a Guy Ritchie film I expected Holmes to be a cockney gangsta, but he’s managed to stay relatively close to the character (though he’s quite different to the Jeremy Brett version I grew up watching on telly.) It’s a bit comic book style in places and complete bloody nonsense in others, but it’s good fun overall. Though if they make a sequel then that awful Irish jiggy music needs to go.
film review: Sherlock Holmes
film review: Paranormal Activity
Not exactly the “scariest movie of all time” but it had a fair few creepy moments; more shiver down your spine than jump out of your seat, so if you’re into gory slasher films then this probably won’t be for you. Felt slightly Blair Witchy with the shaky camera work and with characters who were equally as annoying after a while, and unfortunately the ending was a little bit predictable. Probably good for a lazy Saturday night in with a DVD, but unfortunately not as good as it could have been.

3. I shall miss David Tennant as Dr Who.

5. I’ve left it far too late to make a decent job of my next Open Uni essay.
